I just decided to sign up with ancestry with my mom in July because we wanted to learn more about our Irish heritage. Little did I know how deep a rabbit hole I would fall down learning more and more about my ancestors and where I come from in the perspective of genome sequencing coming from all over the world. It didnt surprise me my results were mainly British but I also found out I am part southern Indian - specifically from Bangladesh/Bengal. This was interesting to see as we did not know our heritage expanded that far away. I have yet to trace which ancestors are Indian and I have already traced back to the 1600s. Here is a short summary of what I discovered.
